You might want to try some of those mom and pop quick lube centers they always seem to be looking for techs... as far as the hs diploma goes just say you have it no one ever checks. I have only been asked for it once, I brought mine in had it ready and wasn't even asked for it. Yeah its not morally correct but we all do un ethical shit once in a while.
No no i dont want to move up in the company. I want to learn and get experience to move to biger and better things..

I read you question but cant say too much about sears... On the other hand, if your willing to learn and to stick with hvac, give it a couple more years, fuck the unioin, side jobs is where the money is at, and union will never let you get away with it. Find a good company that wont trip. If you stick with it, and make it to journeyman, then you can look forward to running your own jobsite which means:
No more insulating No more crawling in crawl spaces, and getting hella black boogers No more ducting in 130 degree attics trying not to step through the sheet rock... while craying your tools... and materials... No more grunt work running line sets and getting the third degree when you kink it. Basically your job would be, hangin out by the attic access, hooking up the furnace, and brazing evap coils (cold water breaks every 5 seconds) all while talkin on your cell phone hopefully lining up your next job. Know what im sayin? Lastly, if you fuck something up, u have someone to fix it for you... Becuz ur the one that knows how to
Basically, if you stick with it, u get to be someone who youngsters can look to be like one day, $40 an hour as a company man and $80-$120 an hour on the side.
I really dont think sears can come close. I know it might have sucked but stick with it jmho. Good luck either way

Didn't feel like reading the whole thread. So your 104 in burlingame? What is your classification ? We might be hiring a service tech within the next month or two. My advice is stick to it and it will work out. I started as a intern and worked my ass off and my boss hired me after the program was over and been working for him for over 2 years now. Get your ged and get into the ac specialist or service. Easier to get into than building trades. Pm me if you want to talk further about it.
