the next question is...who here actually has 25k cash to their name?
I currently don't have a house but I should be getting shipped to LA for work all on the companies dime, so housing is covered for the next year or so, giving me time to save up a bit more for a house...
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I should be going to check out a few cars within the week, probably go check out an M3 as well as a mercedes e55. I'd love to get a corvette, but I want something more comfortable, 4 door, and luxurious.
I stumbled on this pics and it got me wanting an audi bad:
Now I just need to sell the mustangs, anyone interested in a few nice cars?

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer to buy a cheaper car with gobs of aftermarket and lots of available parts (that way I don't feel bad about beating on them, lol). I also don't lose too much on the depreciation which is attractive to me.
I'm a $5-10K kind of car person and for that the 96-01 Cobra can get you a lot of car. Rest of the dough goes into investments.

remember...dont buy a baller car on a poor mans budget. these cars like audi s4, amg benzos, beemer m class might look attractive but remember the upkeep on these cars can kill u if you're not prepared for it.
be practical about what you're buying, dont overstretch your budget and be realistic about ur situation. its easy to buy a lot of car by financing but do u really want to do that for 5 years? i prefer paying cash on whatever extra cash i have on hand and would only consider financing as a last resort option...not saying youre financing but if you're take that into consideration.

yep, here's some averages for owning a 2006 audi S4 - http://www.automobilemag.com/am/2006/audi/s4/ownership_costs.html
my buddy recently got an S4 wagon with the v8 and 6spd manual, about 60k, nice and clean single owner with lots of records.
he's put about $3500 in maint into it in less than a year just for stuff that's broken
power steering hoses burst (10 hours of labor plus parts) glove box door latch broke motor mount and trans mount broke, so motor mounts + trans mount at same time it needed tires so he put a set of 19's on it now his trans is acting up likely from the broken trans mount, pops out of gear and grinds going into some gears, he can't find a used one, even one that needs a rebuild, for less than 2500.

Someone said something really good and that was to invest your money, Look into the Stock Market, Its doing great and you can make some good money.
This is for everyone, Man I just got into it recently and I wish someone would have talked me into buying stocks long time ago!
and If you dont like stockmarket, buy a house, rental property, ETC ETC
MAN I JUST REALIZED I'M GETTING OLD BECAUSE FEW YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE SAID BUY A CAR FOR 10k AND BUILD IT FOR 15k MORE MAN YOU WOULD HAVE ONE SICK RACE CAR.... TO ALL THE OLD GUYS!

CTS-V for "luxury". It's a GM so maintenance isn't bad at all, and you can't argue with the gain in power per mod.
Or a Z06. I just bought a C5 Z06 2 months ago and I love it more every time I take it out for the drive. Way under 25k too.

I'd agree that if you have that kind of cash in your hands, be smart and invest in a house! That's a decent down payment in this economy and you'll be set. If you drop kind of cash into a car, it goes to the shitter because it will quickly depreciate to $10k in a year or so...
