yeah, i did most of the prep myself. They did do a little extra sanding, primer and sealer. at the last minute I decided to paint the mirrors, he did it at no extra charge. He runs a real clean shop.

SO do you guys think, that since I wanna go with a brighter red, i should spray bomb the jambs and trunk area satin black, so I dont have mismatching reds? [ October 19, 2009, 06:13 PM: Message edited by: Mach 5oh ]

you can always get the jams done later to keep the initial cost down. [ October 19, 2009, 06:25 PM: Message edited by: snakebit95 ]

I've seen $3k+ jobs by supposed "professional" painters on here that didn't come close to this $400 job.
Was this done at the Macco off of air base?

Hey sankebit, did the $998 include EVERYTHING? As in wet sanding the car after paint etc?
In other words, what did you have to do yourself to finish after hetting it back from Maecco????

From my experience those paint jobs are only good for 3 years. Now if you garage you car every day you are obviously going to get more out of your paint job. But for cheap and quick you can't beat it.

Maaco pics look great! It's the in person part that is usually not so great.
It just comes down to what your expectations are. Maaco will give you a fresh paint job for a relatively small fee.
By most standards, it will be a big improvement over a tired paint job and many people will be happy with this.
If you want to go above that, I recommend going to a higher end shop however.
People have different standards. To me, if it isn't OEM off the showroom floor quality or better, I don't proceed with paint work.
Crocket Auto Body is very good at what they do, but they are certainly not cheap.

You know Alex, I was debating not posting that because by cafords standards, Maaco is an adequate paint job which would put a smile on most member's faces.
I am not saying that to be facetious either as I have owned cars in the past myself that would look better if I gave it the Maaco treatment.
Cafords "Maaco" Cleaaaaaaaaan!
