Well a little over a year ago, I did work for Citibank. I'm so glad I left then. Citi is cutting 50,000 jobs within the next year. For the past year and some months, I've been working for the BAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT. I feel a lot securer here in terms of job security. Things can still happen, but BART for most of the time generally keeps its employees, if not they usually rehire ASAP.

My job is doing good, we'll see how many captains go to CDF next year though. My last day for this year is tomorrow, then i can put all my time into working on my Fastback and hopefully getting it done before next fire season.

I wish I'd get laid off. My mortgage will be paid for in full for one year if I get laid off. And I wont have to pay it back.
Collect unemployment for 10 months with free mortgage then start looking for a job. It would be like I was making more than I do now.

I am a retail manager and we are barely hangin in there. Our sales are about 40% down from last year. We are about to cut 500 hours. We are still profitable but barely. We are trying to ride out this recession. Luckily we are part of the 2nd biggest retailer in the US. I know that if we close down our store, unemployment will not be enough to support my family. I am pretty nervous at this point. [ November 21, 2008, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: 95GTConvtACE ]

I'm in the mortgage industry, and things have been pretty bad as far as layoffs and our incomes being much lower than before. Even the bank i work at went under, but I still have my job to this day. Actually I've received more territory in the last week. So I must be lucky, or just too valuable to let go so far. I was not one of those scumbag loan officers that would lie to people or sell the loan that made them the most money. We can all blame this entire economic downturn on those dickheads!
