Just got my rate plans for 2014, starting December my family rates are almost double. Sure seems like this fucking idiot wants all self employed people out of business. Must be great that I will have to pay $1200 a month for absolutely shit benefits that require me to foot the bill for every dr. visit up to 6k a year in individual costs while illegals will still continue to get shit for free!!! Fuck you Obama, and all your stupid ass supporters who continue to drive this country to shit!!!

Im saying this half facetiously, but more and more its the way you have to do things. If you are going to be a creator, innovator, i.e. own your business; and not work for a county, state, federal department or a large corporations half subsidized by the gov't, Cash is fucking king...again this is in jest, than you go out and get your paid for entitlements because you apparently have no income. Although, I worry about the day when currency is no longer a tangible commodity and it only exists in electronic form. Ayn Rand is becoming more and more prophetic.

I guess it would almost be cheaper to pay the 2500 penalty and take a chance with no insurance. Or you could just renounce your citizenship, become and undocumented citizen & hit the emergency room for free service.

It's simple mathematics. You CANNOT provide health insurance for 30 million more people who don't have it or don't want it without raising the insurance rates for those that have it. When Obama said insurance rates would go down, you could keep your current doctor's and current insurance, he was either a lying SOB or the stupidest mother fucker on the planet. I think it's both.

Who? All of those who are exempt from being forced to take it. Others pay the monetary penalty if they decline to take it. The rest who have insurance will pay more.
1.Individuals who cannot afford coverage. As described in Section 1402 of the tax code, these sects must have been in existence since at least December 31, 1950.
7.Members of a health care sharing ministry. Qualified nonprofit health care sharing ministries must meet the tax code's definition of such a group, and must have been in existence since at least December 31, 1999.
8.Incarcerated individuals. This includes people in jail, prison, and other penal institutions.
9.Individuals who are not lawfully present. This means anyone who is not a U.S. citizen or national.
Also throw in the congress (exempt), and some unions and businesses (temporarily).

The issue is that everytime there is some change we and my self included we react ether negative or positive. Now what I don't get is why canada and other countries don't have an issue giving free health care. Also to make it clear undocument people would not benefit from this.

No such thing as "free". Someone else is paying for that free. An example is Sweden. Lots of "free" stuff in Sweden. Medical care, housing, food subsidies, etc. Maximum tax rate in Sweden is 75%. Could do the same thing in America but then it would be Amerika. It's called Socialism.

I think it's ironic that, under this system, the healthcare providers will be 'penalized' for making too much $$ in income. So, how do you propose that doctors/dentists/etc with tons of student-loans try and pay them back in a reasonable amount of time when you're cut back to $80k-ish per yr?
People say and think that doctors and dentists are always 'rich' because of how much they make, when in actuality, many/most will be paying back somewhere in the neighborhood of $500k taking into consideration principal+interest over a 10yr payback period.
Will be interesting to see how this all plays out...
