well as far at sale wise, apple is at 24% and htc phones are 23.2% so phones that run android are not far behind at all, at&t is going to shit after the iphone goes to verizon, i still thing that htc phones are much better then iphone's and i been an iphone user since day one.

The only reason why anyone would ever stick to ATT for the iPhones is because of the multitasking (being on the net while on the phone). That's all..

The wait is over!!!!! From what I hear it is the next generation of the iphone. AT&T's network really limited the phones capability.

I can do that now with my iPhone and I don't have ATT

Well that seems like a valid statistical poll. I'm sure it's an accurate random sampling to come to the conclusion you did.
This is bad news for AT&T. Their lack of willingness to correct the coverage issue hurt them for sure. I work for Verizon (transmission engineer) and we've been doing infrastructure upgrades like crazy for the last 2 years. I can tell you, we should be ready for the AT&T defectors.

We'll just have to wait and see the impact on the Droids

The thing that Android has over iPhone is Android is an operating system and is on several different phones from several different manufacturers. The iPhone is just a single device. You don't get a lot of choice with the iPhone. The fact you can buy an Android phone with a keyboard is a big thing to a lot of people (it was for me). Plus the open source nature of Android is attractive to a lot of people too.
Time will tell. If you don't have Apple stock now, you better buy it, cause they're gonna make a killing once this phone drops for sure.

I cant wait to see how many idiots fork over 600+ bucks to switch from one iphone 4 to another.
Dont forget about all the users who have grandfathered data plans and wont want to get rid of their unlimited data plan.

Yeah it is nice to have unlimited data. My iPhone4 is jailbroken. I just plug it in to my computer and use it's for my Internet connection. Can't beat that. I used over 4000 mb of data a month.

Gotta watch out for "unlimited data" plans. They really are not unlimited and set at a 5gb cap. They say that 5gb is unlimited because it's sufficient for email, browsing, etc.
There are guys on the tech forums that have plans from years ago and fought to keep their truly unlimited data plans and 7-7 peak/offpeak plans.

Not to stand up for ATT but Verizon will never get the true test that ATT had to endure when the IPhone took off. I don't think they realized how many people would want the phone itself and didn't know how much data would be used. I've personally never been so glued to a device that I'm constantly using it's data portion of the phone. Now that Verizon will get the iPhone I don't think they willl have the same impact cause ATT will have most of the iPhone users.
Verizon has a better voice coverage but from what I read ATT has better data speeds. I'm not sure about you but I use the phone mainly for Internet and texting. I rarely do calls anymore like the old days. Most of my contacting is through email/texting and a lot of web surfing.

Here are the official details of the Verizon IPhone launch. http://mobile.macrumors.com/ quote: Apple and Verizon announced the Verizon-compatible iPhone today. The new iPhone 4 is functionally identical to the existing AT&T/GSM iPhone 4, but has been made CDMA compatible to run on Verizon's network. It seems there have been some antenna changes to the design with an additional antenna break in the casing.
The new antenna design was leaked in an early video that was later removed by Apple. The new design has moved the antenna break position from the top to the sides of the device. The change may simply be to accommodate CDMA's different communication frequency rather than address the antenna issue from the original design.
The iPhone 4 for Verizion will begin preorders on February 3rd with availability starting on February 10th. The 16GB model will cost $199.99 and the 32GB model $299.99 with two year contract.
In a surprise move, Verizon is allowing the iPhone 4 to be a mobile Mi-Fi device that can share its 3G connection to up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices. This means your laptop can share your iPhone's 3G internet connection when a regular connection is not available. However, as a CDMA device, you won't be able to use your 3G internet connection and Voice at the same time.
