I would say stay away from those. I don't like em. I think they are the weakest of the late models. Although I can't really say what they can do with bolt ons, I wouldn't think much.

i would say $3,500-4,000 max is what i would pay for one that's in good condition.
my 1st car was a '97 gt. with 3.73s, pulleys, catback, and a CAI, i mustered 14.6sec out of it. it wasn't quick by any means, but still fun to drive. it's a lot of more comfy than my fox. i later added a frpp roots blower making 12# of boost and it became a pretty fun ride. i never took it down the track, but it dynoed at 298rwhp and 332rwtrq, not too shabby.

if you were going to buy a modular sn-95 you should only go with a cobra. the GT's are less than impressive if you ever wanna go fast and they can be had for a decent price right now. better off getting a 94-95 with a 5.0 if not the cobra. cams, tune, gears, long tubes on that 2v will MAYBE put you faster than an HCI fox or stockish 96-98 cobra.

So your saying that a HCI fox has the same performance as a stockish 96 cobra? I think a HCI fox would spank a stockish 96 cobra.

not really, I've had both, it takes a helluva bolt-on fox to hang with my 4.30 geared 4v that has a stock motor.

+1, those things are a dime a dozen right now. Although the mileage and body sounds tight. But I would opt for a Cobra at this point. Not that I am biased or anything

Yeah, i sold my 97 for $1,700... 130,000 miles, clean title, stock 17's, intake, underdrive pullies, plugs & wires, off-road x-pipe, magnapacks, short shifter, clutch, 3.73's, eibach springs... ran 14.3 on Kumho street meats... straight body, good paint, clear corners, HID headlights, alpine stereo, bullitt pedals and shift knob, upr billit A/C knobs. clean leather...
offer $2k, max... unless it's supercharged or PI head swapped... otherwise buy a fox, 94-95 SN with the 5.0... or a 99-04 GT... [ August 27, 2009, 04:02 PM: Message edited by: 04 S281 ]

Exactly. Cobra stock is rated @ 300hp. Stock fox puts out 225hp. Add your common off the shelf HCI to a fox and let's say it gives u a 100hp gain. Puts that fox @ 325. Add simple gears, intake, catback to the cobra and your running even with a stockish bolt on cobra. Maybe a fox wins since its lighter but its a drivers race.

+1. I race these things all day long on the streets. My car is stock and a convertible. You can make them look pretty, but probably cost too much to fix up.
