Someone talk me out of it. I have all the driveline parts to build a 750+ rwhp mustang but am contemplating buying a 01-04 Z06 vette.
All I would need to do to the vette is heads cam and have a solid 475-500 rwhp car that can drive all day without overheating or causing me any problems.
Decisions Decisions.

LOL very true!
Another come to mind is resale value. A modded fox isnt worth shit anymore and I jsut dont have the patience to take them back apart. A modded vet holds thier value way better.

if you want resale value, you better pick up something with low production numbers... like a Roush, Saleen, or Steeda...
i mean, stock to stock, the Vette is faster, but mod to mod, dollar for dollar, i'd take a fox stang anyday... plus easier to maintain... ever work on a Vette electical system?
if you got money for a 500hp Z06, find something ultra rare... like a True 03-04 Cobra Roush...

It's a coin toss there. You can't lose with either one really, I've been in many vettes and stangs and the Z06's rock too....but make sure it's a Z06

a zo6 is a MUCH better all around car than a Mustang. I would rather have a heads and cam zo6 than a 700rwhp foxbody.. But thats just me.

Rikky, go Vet and be happy for a long time. A 5.0 with mods is all over craigslist and they hardly sell.
A modded z06... Not so many out there that are heads/cam modded. Most are just bolt ons, plus i think it suit's your "Electrical Engineer" position

The z06 is about the best bang for your buck, heads cam, longtubes with no emissions will put you at 500rwhp, and some t1 swaybars with some coilovers will tighten that thing up like you wouldn't believe, if a well rounded car is what you want you will not regret the z06.

Its sad to say but go with a VETT! Look ya a fast mustang is cool but we all have them and they keep on having problems (don't come on and post but mine runs perfect) Look at the end you will have more drive time in a fast vett then a fast mustang.
You have all the parts for the mustang so you can always build one in the future
This is what it comes down to if its going to be parked at home and only driven on weekends then maybe the Mustang would be cool but if you need to drive it everyday well go with the vett
YA AND THE GAS MILEAGE IS GREAT!

I love my vette its a great all around car. Trunk space is poor but it handles great has decent power and gets awesome gas mileage.

Man, you don't build the car for resale value, you build it to drive! I struggled with the modded fun car or a nice driver but I was stuck with needing something to drive every day so the Bimmer won. I'm happy my Lightning didn't sell because I have way too much fun driving it.
