Is this possible? I mean get a good quality paint in one week? My homie took his car to a dude that has a his own shop and he actually lives on premesis. So I imagine he works long ass hours. But dont you like have to let the aint cure and use heat lamps and all that crap. let alone the prep work and everything? He is paying 1300 for a full paint job and not much body work needed. What ya'll think is this dude ? My car has been in paint for 1 month so far, which I thought is the normal time for a paint job.

i dunno who your guy is, but i got my paintjob on the droptop done in a week. as long as the paint is left overnight to cure it will be allright inbetween coats.

Man, haven't you ever watched overhauled? They completely pull the whole car apart and repaint it within 2-3 days. A+ work at that. So it is definately possible, but like you I would also second guess anyone who is offering a $1300 paintjob inside of a week, even though that it is dirt cheap. if west coast customs can pimp a ride in a week im sure the body shop your buddy is taking his car to can do it as well. more than anything id be more interested to see how this $1300 paint job turns out....thats almost unheard of unless we're talking about miracle, maaco or earl scheib.

Hope Custom Paint got this done in a week for SEMA in 04, but to rush a quality paint job is going to take some $$ because there going to ahve to work alot of hours to get it done.

Painters are like artists... you never want to rush a good painter, imho.
Remember, you have to live with the result.

9venom9...holy shit that was donein a week? that is great work.
Nah the dude said he can do it in a week. I was skeptical and plus the price. But I was told he does good work and since the car had no real damage that is should be fine. but it just seems to go to be true. But he should find out this weekend. Mine car should be out friday. Gonna be pissed if his paint is better than mine.

Repaints are only as good as what's underneath it. If your car doesn't require much prep work, no reason why you can't get a good paint job in a week. A typical 20 year old car will most likely require more than 40 hours prep work, probably a lot more.
Also, most body shops quote very long time estimates for full paint jobs. They like to keep time open for collision work when cars need to be turned around quickly.

Dropped by and checked it out and honestly this dude is proceeding at a remarkable pace. He has all the pieces of and prepped. Some already painted. My friend didnt want me to take pictures until it was finished. But so far I am a believer. I may have him do my 87 vert.
