I am going to ship a long block, however I need to strap it down to a pallet or crate of some sort. Anyone here ever build a crate or pallet for an engine?
I will end up probably building one but need some insight on some methods to make one. [ 2016-04-22, 08:32 AM: Message edited by: Autumnstang97 ]

When I swapped my 5.0 in my truck, the engine I bought came on a pallet. I just used the same pallet it came on to ship the other one back and strapped it down. The pallet had some 2x4's built up so the engine would stand up. I also read that you can put an old tire on the pallet and stick the oil pan inside the tire to help hold it up, then strap it to the pallet.

So. Here's one I just built. Cost me $42 in materials. One sheet of plywood and one 2x4 for the base. Long block sitting perfect on a tire. 30"x30x and 30" tall.
