Is it legal to change the color of your plate lights to like green or yellow or must they be white.

Its illegal to change but i see everyone changing them to different colors. Its one of those "do it at ur own risk" things. Tinted windows are illegal and i have them done. Its a risk. I say do it....

So does that mean led license plate lights are illegal too I have them on my car haven't had any problems

No. White led is different than colored lights.

U should be able to get away with yellow or a light blue I would think. Those colors aren't too far off from white
