Would It be okay to spray paint my 3g alternator without taking it apart, I will mask off areas where you connect wires, I just want to know if I will damage anything internally? I will do 3 heavy coats and dont want to take it apart.

One of my local friends did it and didnt damage it, but I felt like he got lucky, just want to hear more feedback before I do it . Thanks
