I dislocated my knee cap and partially tore my mcl along with tearing off a chunk of cartilage from the back of the cap. I still suffer alot of pain but electively chose to go back to work against my drs. Request. My question is can I apply for disability while partially working until disability kicks in? Or do I have to leave work.

are we talking regular state disability? if so youj cant be working to claim disabilty was the injury work related? state holds first week of pay on diabilty. If your talking about social security disabilty you've had to have been out of work for atleast 1 year + exausted all your state disability funds in order to apply and this application process will take about a year to go through

I was asking about state. I am basically the only provider for my family and I didnt want to wait forever for them to pay out but standing on my leg will not let it heal properly. And it was not work related. [ 2013-12-03, 03:33 AM: Message edited by: 87MclarenMustang ]

You might be eligible for disability but not if your working at the same time.

depending if your job offers you that opportunity you can go on state disability but without working. You'd be getting paid about 2/3 of your current check but I'm not sure how long you'll be able to receive these disabilities.
