Hmm.... gives me a idea. I would need this for a hatch. I'm gonna try and do that outline style with my set up. Just want it flush since I have no seats atm.

Yeah. Weight reduction of my back seats is what I'm doing. Plus the brackets r kinda twacked.. I wanted 2 try and mount a speaker in the truck space.

Hey 707 can u post pics of how the layout pieces you did? Is it one for the back 2 front? For the seat area?

I'll try and grab some pictures later but it'll be 3 pieces total with 1 for the back and 2 for the front (1 of them is the upright piece). It should all fit on 1 4x8 piece of mdf board.

Just be careful, a lot of r.s.d still weigh 15+ lbs. I made my own using cardboard and the carpet they use making stereo boxes. Only weighs like a pound lol

Yeah, agree. The one for the coupe from stangmods weighs in at 35 lbs! Hell, I don't think the stock seat and back weight is that much. My DIY weighs 3 lbs.

I found a large sheet of stiff but also flexible plastic (some place in San Leandro) and covered it with grey trunk carpet material. It's way too flexible to lay anything heavy on it though.
