So I just installed my new steeda tri ax shifter on my t5 and holy shit balls it feels great! I was torn between the mgw and steeda and when I felt the mgw on a friends car a couple days ago, I thought I made a big mistake getting the steeda. Boy was I wrong! The steeda is perfect. Kinda notchy which is perfect because the one thing I hated about the stock shifter was its mushyness. The mgw is mushier than the steeda, but still a greatshifter. Especially compared to the god awful stock one. I think it all comes down to what feel u prefer. I prefer a notchy shifter that makes it very apparent that u are going into gear. If u are the same way I recommend the steeda tri ax. If u like a slightly smoother yet slightly mushier shifter that is very comfortable get the mgw. If u are stretch armstrong, get the pro50 lol that mf handle is tiny!

Ps it took me almost an hour to install because I had to remove the center console on the foxbody to properly access the front shifter bolts and insulation boot front bolts. All of it was painless and anybody who knows righty tighty lefty loosy and knows how to apply elmers glue can install a short throw. Just use silicone instead of glue lol.

I tried them all and I like steeda myself but I don't think you had to take the console bro the shifter booth rectangular plastic pops out. I haven't done one recently but I think that's all I do to get full access to change the shifter. I maight be mistaken tho.

Changing the shifter you don't need to remove the consol but to rr the insulation boot, then yes you need to ..other wise it's a bitch. Jmo [Wink]

Correct, the front bolts for the lower shift boot are tucked under the console but u could prolly use a gear wrench and get them out pretty easy. But then u gotta lay silicone under the console without seeing it. Not a good idea lol
