Topic: need some help

ok so here is the problem, got a 98 cobra with stock internals, bought the supercharger used came with 10# pulley and was told it was too much for the engine, called vortech and they said the next pulley probably wont fit in that area, so now i need new internals, dont have a shit ton of money so if anyone can give me some suggestions or point me towards someone who has a built motor they wanna sell that would be great, thanks for the help guys

Or try find a low mileage 03/04 shortblock for a grand or less.

There should be another pulley that will fit, I too had a 10# pulley, after who know how much mileage the previous owners put n my brothers heavy ass foot is what caused the motor to blow a rod
I'd get a MMR shortblock

Anybody kno what the 8# pulley size is and how many ribs my set up is, just a vortech v1 t trim dont really wanna take belt off right now

I'm on the same blower, what size is you're pulley right now?? I don't remember if I'm on 8 or 10 #z

I didn't blow it, my brother did but it lasted quite a long time on 10#z, I've known the previous owner to the car and they drove it without a problem, reason for it blowing was my brother driving it without getting it retuned after a head gasket change, I think the timing was off, Daniel from advanced auto also found some problems as well and then the motor took a poo

So I could just tell the guy I switched out the pulley n he will never kno cuz I took it to get it tuned today and he wouldnt do it because of that

I can just tell the guy tuning the car that I took the 10# pulley off so he will tune the car cuz he wont tune it with the 10# pulley on it

There's always a safe way to tune a car on 10#z, talk to Nate at all out performance, people at nextgen, Mustang Ranch as well did you ask AED?

Idk I bought the 8# pulley only $100, gonna save my money for a couple months n buy a crate motor safe for 750 to the wheels
