Ive been trying to figure out how those little mom and pop mexican places make their tacos. Usually its two corn tortillas chicken onion cilantro. Anyone know how they flavor the meat? Someone has gotta have a good recipe. [ May 17, 2012, 03:36 PM: Message edited by: adower ]

On a serious note, you can buy the meat at most Mexican Meat market's preseasoned for $1.99/lb for chicken breast, about same for Carne.
This is what we make.

Hit up mi pueblo...they got all the meats already marinated. Just grill it, chop it up, and go to town! I usually get meat and tortillas there, then add some onions and cilantros and you're golden!

What part of sacramento? There's usually a carniceria somewhere near you, and all the ingredients are there. Tomoatoes, cilantro, limes, carne asada, queso fresco.

No buy the meat bro well what kind of meat you looking for carne asada is pretty simple buy the steak salt limon and beer let it marinate for about 2hrs bro less fat on meat the better in the mean time chop you cilantro and onions some lemons and cant forget the reddish whole ones not horse reddish lol... Ps If you cut the meat before you fry it better taste also grilled onions/jalepenos will def hook it up more...and well you can hook it up with some spicy ass salsa..

It's a secret! Lol. If you have to buy it pre made its not the right way. Try and find like the shoulder area. Seasoning is not much. Usually just some salt. My friend does tacos at parties. One of the best I've ever had. The green non spicy salsa is the easiest to make.

These are like the flour tortilla chips that are deep fried but as a taco shell. Like a chalupa?

They are not deep fried, you need a VERY thick corn tortilla which is very to find in California, lightly moisten the tortilla with water and fry in light layer of oil.
