Is my car burning oil too fast? It's a 347 with dart heads and a solid cam. But I feel like oil lasts me only one month?

Talk to Dan but with 347 strokers the wrist pin interfers with the oil ring causing oil consumption to be faster then normal. Maybe it's the manufacturers engineering in that area of what I said or you have bad blow by

There is no reason to use 20-50w oil unless you live in hot weather conditions. At this time of the year you should be using 10-40w

What is alot? 1 quart a month? 2? 5?

Do you see smoke coming from the exhaust? Does it smell like oil? Have you checked for leaks?

You need to give more info if you want anyone to help.

Probably be a good rule of thumb to check the oil before the guage starts to drop....

347's use oil.Like someone stated above. The wrist pin intersects with the oil ring land and oil gets by there.

Ever think about putting the correct amount of oil in the motor and marking ur aftermarket dip stick?

My oil pressure guage fluctuates alot between idle and full throttle, it never drops to zero though.

If your oil pan had a bung for a supercharger oil line that might be a prob, that is if there ever was one.... When I took the s/c off my hatch I used a rubber gromet to plug the S/c oil hole in the oil pan and it used to always pop out whenever I would smash.

If you don't have a dipstick, how do you know you're burning oil? How do you know how much to add? Having too much oil is just as bad as not having enough. Dipsticks are pretty fucking cheap. Much cheaper than rebuilding the shortblock because you have the wrong amount of oil in it.
