Ok im doing my first startup next week.does anybody kno what type of oil i should use for the first start up?? This guy told me to use some zinc lube an diesel oil 20w-50 0r diesel oil 15w-40 0r 5w-40 what you cafords pillars think.

20-50 is too heavy... That could lead to some problems. Just go with a case of some royal purple 10-40

Also use 1 quart to flush any debris out and make sure to put oil in the oil filter before your first start.

Yup...^^^ make sure it's good ol'fashion mineral oil for the first 1000-2000 miles.

Castrol , Quaker State , Mobile 1 . Royal purple and Quaker State is all I use. They are all relatively in the same price range of 4-7 dollars a quart.

prime the motor with oil before you start it up.. i.e. use drill/primer to turn oil pump and prime motor before start up. i used joe gibbs oil for my start up. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)
