If somebody wants something badly enough, and is too lazy to work for it, they steal it. What I can't figure out is, why Fox body cars? Really? it's almost funny to me, risking freedom, a record and possibly your life for a total net gain of what, maybe 1500-2500 dollars? Risk vs. Reward is just not there.
An old Mustang? It is much more than that to many people. It is something that person has worked hard to have or has bled all over while working on. It's not just stealing a car, it is stealing the work and the time put into the car. It is stealing joy and accomplishment, the memories with friends, family and lost loved ones while working on and discussing plans for the car. This is what you are taking.
There is no point to this post. Just a commentary on the seemingly high number of thefts reported on this forum and an expression of sympathy for those who have experienced loss in this hobby.

I see it as foxbodys are best bang for your buck, low cost,so most ghettos have them, most foxbodys are modded,
I broke into my mustangs hekka easy when i left my keys in without damaging nothing.
they dont have the magnet on their keys so ppl just bust the ignition.
Their fucken awesome!
I dnt think because ppl are jealous, there "envious"
most foxbody owners have the attitude " my mustang wont get stolen. Hence the no alarm, no steering wheel club, etc. [ January 11, 2012, 09:17 AM: Message edited by: Stangn5oh ]

My friends fully restored 92 gt got taken from him, straight pros, they even drilled the battery the night before to counter the viper motion sensor alarm, even shut off the main power breaker to the house so the motion light wouldn't go off, now they made off with more than just your average fox, there's some downright pros out there who will get your car no matter what, if they want it. btw the car was boxed in the driveway by a dodge sprinter van, we're still trying to conclude how they got it out of his driveway.long story short, viper alarms, clubs, even boxxing them in doesn't keep you safe, sorry to all the mustangs lost this year.

Well , it's not just Foxes. All late 80's and early 90's cars are a cinch to start without a key, ask any mechanic . There are a number of reasons why people single out Foxes, same thing for Honda's . They're plentiful and people eagerly sink cash into them. Them being so readily available means there's a huge market for parts, stock , modded, built etc. And that's what attracts the scum.
It's a lose lose situation for all us genuine enthusiast who work for what we have while these douchebags plot and scheme to find ways to take what we've worked for .
Another safe guard everyone on this board should consider is using a grinder or dremel to engrave your initials on expensive parts hidden from plain view in the event a theft recovery you can prove that said parts are yours ! [ January 11, 2012, 09:27 PM: Message edited by: RONIN ]
