This is a dumb ? but do wheel spacers push your wheels out further i have never had them or know anything about them.I really like my stock gt wheels just the 17x8 is too narrow in the back if i install spacers will it look like a 17x9 wheel and how safe are they and how much are they?

Yes, they will push your wheels out further. Whatever size u purchase, that is how much further out your wheels will sit. As long as you buy a decent brand of hub centric spacers like Eibach or Maximum Motorsports, they will be safe. I recommend a set of 1" spacers for your 8" wheels for the rear, & maybe an 1/8" for the front. The 1" bolt on to your existing studs & actually have their own studs pressed into them. Any spacers smaller than 1" simply slide on & u use your existing wheel studs still, BUT, if they are thicker than 1/4" (excluding the 1" spacers), they will require you to remove your stock studs & install extended studs because there won't be enough thread left to safely torque the lug nuts down. I know this sounds a bit confusing, but once you see them you will understand...
:EDIT: If this is for a fox, I'm not sure what size u should run, I was referring to the 99-04 Mustangs because the wheels sit in so far in the rear. Maybe a 1/2" will suffice in the rear?

thanx for the info very helpful and i have an 01 gt they sit way in the back lol.I figured why spend money on rims when i can get spacers cheaper route.

Had Stock Wheels On My 96 From A 01,Had 1in. Spacers And Actually Looked Nice. Wheel Stuck Out More And Sat Flush With The Fenderwall. Took Them Off After I Got A Set Of 17/10.5 Wheels Lol

Spacers are definitely a good way to go just make sure you torque them down and check them periodically at least just to feel safer. Americanmuscle.com has some good brands and good prices. If you decide to order from them PM me.

If u go this route, make absolute sure that they are hubcentric. The ones they have listed on americanmuscle are not hubcentric (non h&r's)..
