Topic: best way to spend 3 to 5 k on 01 cobra

i have a 01cobra with longtubes ,xpipe,catback,intake,beeter coils,udp,390 gears,hardened axles,solid axle swap,slotted drilled rotors,short shifter,tuner,and a wet kit.it made 330 all motor 480 on the juice.im looking to upgrade it aqnd get rid of the nitrous.have bout 3 to 5 thousand to spend but i dont know what would be the best results for that price range.any ideas or knowledge from 4v owners would be a great help thanx

i sen the on3 kit but havent heard much feedback about them. and i woudl have to change my whole front suspension and take off the longtubes .but def worth it i think

save your money..leave your car how it is..later upgrade to a faster car..if you drop more cash into the car you will never see it back. what part of 209 are you from??

im in stockton .and im not really concerned about getting the money back.i do things to my car knowing its a money pit.but i dont see me selling the car in the near future unless i get a 03 cobra.

i would but i would have to sell mine first and unless i could sell mine and put like5 grand out of pocket i wouldnt do it . my blue books 12.5 bcuz low miles but i have mods and a new 3k paint job

I have a 99/01 cobra procharger P1sc complete kit with upgraded 3 core intercooler and a upgraded procharger race bypass complete. Every nut bolt tubing clamp and bracket for sale if you are interested $2700 without the bypass and I'll give you a brand new stock blow off or $300 with the bypass

You WILL blow your motor if you boost it, as long as your ok with that, then yes, a blower.
If it were mine... Shorten the runners a bit on the manifold, do up the heads, and put some man cams in It and keep the spray. Nothing sounds better than a 125 shot winding out to 7,500 lol
Besides. The car will be slower with a blower instead of spray...

Since your on a budget and want reliable power this is what I say you do, take in mind I hate nitrous but this is the best bang for the buck:
MMR 750 shortblock- $2900
Heads- Reuse stock ( Get them checked out)
Cams- nitrous/blower - used $400
Then hit it with a 150-175 wet shot... Untill you could save for a blower... It'd be reliable...

Yea I know right lol.. I was off with the pricing on cams.. I just checked corral and saw they go for about $750-900 used.. Any who just keep stockers... Supplement more nitrous for lack of cams

Looks like you have a nice platform.
The problem, as referenced above, is you shouldn't add to much more power with the stock shortblock...
If you are looking to step it up in terms of power, I would forge the motor and then look at supercharger/turbo with tune... It's going to cost more than $5K though for everything.
If it were me, I'd put half into the suspension and the other half into a used supercharger... Tune it for 450rwhp with a safe A/F and conservative timing, and beat on it daily till the wheels fall off!

thanx luke.i have subframes,upper,lowers,tokicos, as far as suspension goes.but yeha i think ill be lookin for a used charger with a safe tune because 5k is my max right now
