Just wondering who besides Epik makes beats or works in music production on the site. I'm looking to buy an MPC in the future and just wondering what people are using for equipment/ set ups.

im currently using reason 4 with the m-audio axiom pro.i also have pro tools with the digi 003 rack but i sent that off to blacklion audio to have it modded with new AD/DA converters and better word clock signal and pre amps.but i posted my mpc 1000 on here for sale a while ago.the mpc is a very nice piece to start out with.very easy to use and they have all kinds of sound upgrades.or you can sample all of your sounds as well.im actually thinking about getting another and using it with reason 4 as my sound module.im more of a hardwear guy but like to try new things.you also can go with a keyboard workstartion like a roland fantom, yamaha motif, korg m3 or m50 or triton or karma, and those all do everything the mpc does but without the pads.mpc sequencer is best hands down.or buy both a mpc and a keyboard and use them together.and a nice set of studio monitors and you will be good to go for a while.if you get an mpc might wanna grab a turntable of some sort and some old records so you can do a little diggin as we call it.softwear is alot easier cause it comes with everything you need and then some.simple and clean set up.like i use reason 4 with a midi controler and all i got is one usb cable hooked to my computer and its ready to go.but a mpc is a great way to start.

My plan right now is to pay off all my credit card debt before I buy anything.... When the time comes I'm thinking of running an akai mpc 2500( for pads and seq ) 1 keyboard/synth and 1 turn table. I do have one Q' . Can you hookup the mpc to your laptop and sample a sound off YouTube or your iTunes ? Don't know how or if you have to run a program to do that.
YouTube is my favorite place to dig for samples [Wink]

btw chugabrew you don't want none of this [dance]

You can just hook up your laptop from the 1/8" audio output to an input on your mixer & sample it the same way you would from a turntable...
