Research how much it costs taxpayers for death row court fees and appeals vs lifetime imprisonment.
Personally, I'd rather see the guy in his prison cell 23 hours a day with no books, no TVs, no magazines...nothing, except a 1 hour prison yard walk, for the rest of his life.

Dollar-for-dollar, yea it does cost more to execute someone, for no other reason that the legal hurdles and appeals process. It would be great if there were a way to streamline the judicial system such that if there is 100% proof (as mentioned: DNA/photo/otherwise) or admission of guilt, just kill them on the spot, rather than screwing around with MORE taxpayer money putting someone to death.
I'm all for the death penalty, but I'm also all for the cheapest way to see that someone's life is as ruined as all the pain they caused others.
