So back in February I had some money to toss around in the market and I picked up quite a bit of Ford stock. Not a smart buy at the time, as half of my purchase was based on emotion. I've made a nice profit so far.

My buddy was talking to a Chevy delaership owner today and he said that he feels that Chevy is on a downhill slide. With the Gov't owning a large portion of the company, he thinks that the V8 production cars are on their way out, with a focus being placed on gas saver models. He even spoke of no more SS badging based on public perception of the gas guzzler.

I think Ford is making solid business decisions and can't wait to see what is next. Maybe with some profit I could convince the wife to let me pick up a Taurus SHO!

if u bought stock in feb/march of this year w/ most companies you should be sitting on a 40% on up profit. i also picked up ford but around may for $5/share..still a decent profit though but i wished i had gotten in a couple months earlier. hindsight is always 20/20.

same can be said about appl, wfc, C, bac, rimm, casino stocks..etc that 6000 level on the DJIA we saw earlier this year is something we wont see ever again.

some examples of what we couldve been sitting on if we had a crystal ball going from feb til today
here are a few examples
apple $89->$190+
rimm(aka blackberry) $39->$58
wells fargo $12->$29
bofA $5->$15
citigroup $1.5->$4
las vegas sands $2->$15
ford $2 ->$7.5

freakin ridiculous on how nice it wouldve been if u dumped all your cash into the market in Feb/march

They are on their way out...for the most part. Soon you will see GM basically a two-part company; one side will be conventional internal combustion engines...the other, strictly hybrid/hydrogen vehicles. GM is putting nearly all their current resources into R&D for hydrogen powered vehicles, in hopes it will corner the market before anyone else and garner even more support from the general public.
