please only 400hp out of a 408 ive seen beat up ass old 302's with a few go fast parts. make that all day long.

Yeah, I have always been against buying a motor that makes less HP than it has displacement. It should be no problem to make way more HP easily with a 408. If you want to spend 7g's then there is a crazy sick 342 (?) stroker on corral.net built by a racing legend. A good 600hp motor and its set to run on pump gas. I always look at the ad and dream but you could make it a reality.....
