T5= 75lbs dry, less rotational mass, and easy to find parts for
t56 is whats in the car now and its heavy as a mofo 120lbs or more, harder to work on and rebuld kits/parts are way more expensive. it will be for sale

for those with the g force kit/trans is the gear cluster a multi piece unit. what i heard is if you tear up a gear on it you can replace what was damaged instead of tossing the whole unit or is it a one piece cluster?

I liked both my G Force T5's, right up until they broke.

That's true with the dog cut gear set. Probably also true for the synchro gear set but check with G force to be sure.
In any case, 3rd gear is still the weak spot on a T5 regardless of whose or what gears are used.

I never had it on a dyno. It had enough power to run 130 in the 1/4 in the high 10's. There are guy's running more power than that with them . I had the helical street kit. maybe the straight cut trannies are stronger. I went with a TKO 500 and never have had a issue since.

Where do you shift at? I heard complaints that tko's start becoming impossible to shift into gear at higher rpms. Just wanted your input. [ June 04, 2009, 04:22 PM: Message edited by: 90FoX ]
