Alright guys I'm thinking about getting rid of my 03 cobra and buying an SUV. I really need to get a car that has space for family, four doors, room for my dog in the back, and also give me the ability to tow when needed. Let me know what SUV you guys would consider and why. Keep in mind my range is between 25K-40K.

trailblazer ss, or porsche cayenne, the cayennes are really nice, and if you swoop a turbo one, pretty damn fast, the trailblazer ss is just plain bad ass.

If your planning to buy new and will be relying on the warranty I would suggest against any GM product due to all the involvement of the government in the company. Many feel the government may take over the company entirely.
Trying to get a car manufacture to approve warranty repairs is hard enough as it is, imagine if the government owned GM and how tough and garbage the warranty would be.
If it was me I would shy away from all American manufactures, at least for now. But if I "HAD" to buy American it would definitely be a Ford since I feel they are doing better than the rest and rejected any government bailout.
Ford sold Land Rover in 2008. not sure to who but its likely who ever bought it increased the quality of the vehicles. (Don't take my word, I would suggest researching that) I would look into those. Brand new they may be out of your price range but used you might be able to find one especially in this economy you have major power as a buyer in terms of negotiating a good deal.
I would say buy a toyota but those things are UGLY AS F**K~!

If you want to stay economical, I say get the Mazda CX9! I know its a mazda, but they really stepped up their game these past few years. I have an 08 CX9 Sport and love it. Its not a full sized SUV, but it rides REALLY well, seats 7, and will get you better gas mileage than an american made.
I plan to get 22" Bullitts for it soon

I'm a fan of short bed, double cab pickup trucks. it's a good size for commuting and you'll have room for passengers, a bed to hold cargo, and it's made to haul.

You sure it wasn't one of the 6.0Ls? those are the POS motors. the excusion with the 7.3 is a very reliable truck. definitely on the heavy duty side but the 7.3 is a tried and true reliable motor! and I should know

SS trailblazer. But since gm is going down. You should get a nice lil expediton. Or a SRT8 jeep grand cherokee. Just as fun as a Trailblazer but lighter.
