I am going to have the cobra painted black again. I am looking for a car show quality paint job. Gonna spend the next month or so looking into paint shops. But was wondering if anyone in the area has any one they would recommend? Car is currently black with no dings or dents. Paint is just faded so I imagine it wont be too hard of a job. But I want the wet look.

I may consider bay area paint shops. But I am gonna wanna pop in and check on progress a lot. So something local would be better for me.

I highly recommend talking to Rich at Euro Design in San Bruno. You'll really get what you pay for. He runs a owns and runs a great shop, and you'll be drooling when you look around. My buddy was in there last week and sent me some pics of a newer Lambo Gallardo(sp?) The owner of Monster Cable brought it in (well, not the owner, but his car lakie) for some touch up before a car show. If you are willing to come to the bay area, you won't be dissapointed.

Is that the one, by that burrito shop? Isn't there another place right across the street as well? Someone else recommended them too.

They are very pricey, but are suppose to be VERY good. They do a lot of show cars too. I don't think you would be disappointing. Maybe shocked at the price [Wink] . Show quality paint jobs are $$$.

You aint lying. I been calling around so far for ballparks. And OMG.....my cheap ass is in shock. I am trying to see what i can get for about 3k. So far I am hearing prices much north of that. but they said it depends on the condition of the current paint and metal.

haha, 3k will not get you a show quality paint job. you will get a decent paint job if you can find the right shop. i would expect a min. of 5-6k for a cheap show quality paint job. good luck.

Just take it to maaco or miracle because it doesn't sound like your willing to pay for a "show quality paint job".

5-6K minimum especially in black for show quality.

i wasn't realy trying to rub it in [Wink] . it was actually funny that you mentioned show quality paint job and then 3k. if that is your budget, try California Reflections in Livermore. Kevin, cool guy, the owner is very easy to work with. Tell him your budget and I'm sure you will be happy with his work. It won't be show quality, but quality nonetheless. I've had quite a few work done there and have always been happy. I've been quote for some work at Troy's before and it made me jump out of my shoes. for half of their cost, CA Reflection was good in my book. i like to think i'm picky too.

I remember the quotes for a show quality paint job cost around 10k. Complete car, jams, shaved engine bay, floorpan, mirror finish, had everything tight and lined up perfectly. I'm pretty sure any of these guys can do a great, quality job with 3k.

ok maybe I need to revise my statement. I talked to a couple of folks and was more precise in what followed my "show quality" statement. I am not trying to get the bay painted, floor pans.... Exterior and jams mirror finish. And so far that has dropped my quotes considerably. I need to pick my words more careful next time. My statement carried the assumption of much more than I am needing. And Maeco is out of the question...lol. Now my quotes are around the 4k range I can manage that, but still trying to get lower. I know there is a good shop out there feeling the economic bite. Anyone here knows if Armani's cousin still has the shop in Richmond?

Will try the other places mentioned too. If anyone knows anyone else let me know.
