I feel like I know a lot about PayPal and Ebay so if anyone can shed some light on this let me know.

Buyer just submitted a dispute and refund of $315 for something I sold him. I've already got the money, shipped it, spent the money and left him feedback as it's been like 2+ weeks since they had the item sent. Now Paypal is has taken $315 from my account and put it on hold, buyer is claiming that what was sent was not what was stated in the auction.

Can he get his money back on just his word? How can he prove it? Also I have sign return shipping label from this fuck so Paypal should see in my favor right? I mean his word against mine right? I sent him what was in the auction so I think he's trying to send back some crap and get my money in return. WTH

Scan all your docs and submit your reply to paypal. More often than not the person disputing will not get their cash back. but the bad thing is that 315 will be on hold for quite sometime while you guys work this out. Just be really thorough in your explanation and subsequent replies. Paypal does a good job on looking into this stuff and they work close with ebay. So if you are on the up and up you should be all good.

I know I kept the green signed return form. As soon as my ass gets home I'm coming back to work and scanning it to paypal. Luckly I had enough $ in there to cover what is being held so no problem there but I can't imagin them siding with the guy. I mean, if they do then EVERY buyer can pull the same shit. I sent my response already and put that I'll be adding aditional documentation. Says paypal will get back to me by Dec. 4th!!!! hella long your right

you can get screwed on the following

1) you ship to a non confirmed paypal address. if the buyer disputes the charges and claims he/she never ordered the item, paypal will immediately reverse the charge as spelled out in their protection policy

2) if you sold an item not as advertised. this could be an item as listed as new when the actual item shipped was used or damaged. or if the item was never received such as the case when the shipment is not traceable.

if the buyer was disputing the condition of a used item, you more than likely will win. paypal doesnt get involved with disputes regarding this and they usually leave it up each party to try to negotiate a solution.

i got screwed as a buyer when i had purchased a take-off rear seat upholstery for a fox hatchback that was advertised as "new" condition. what i received was a cover that was faded and no where near new. once i put in the claim with paypal they recommended each party to work out a solution but once that was exhausted, paypal didnt do jack shit and sided w/ the seller

It's true in my experience that the buyer has no rights. You will get to keep the money.

Item was listed as used
Item was clearly recieved from the buyer as the buyer is stating that I sent them a different unit than that of what arrived. Different model, less options on it etc. So they have already admited they received my package whether or not I provide the signed form or not.

So in simple terms if they refund his money they just took his word for it. I don't see how they would do that. Thanks for the advice. I think I'll be okay but what a pain in my ass.

well if you described the item appropriately and provided model numbers or something clearly stating what it is. Then you are in the clear. Oh and one thing, if he payed you by credit card through Paypal. You can kiss that money good bye. Paypal does not like to butt heads with Mastercard and those guys. But if it was through a bank payment or paypal funds I think the money will stay with you.
