I think he will fight again. There is way too much money out there for him not to fight. Him and cotto are the only boxers that i request the day off from work to make sure i get to see when they fight.

Cotto won"t even get past Margarito next month. So their would be know since in Floyd fighting him anyway

I know this is old but I got bread on Cotto. I will be at this fight to see my fellow Puerto Rican get in that ass!!! Mayweather is a B*tch, he had every excuse not to fight Cotto.

I believe that its a combination of both money and the the threat of Cotto's talent that have kept Mayweather away. Why would Maywether fight a boxer as good as Cotto if the money isnt right? He's already considered the best in his weight class.
In regards to the upcoming Margarito and Cotto fight, that will be exciting. Gotta go with Margarito since he's a fellow Mexican ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

I agree at a certain point it becomes strictly business. Mayweather stopped boxing for the fans years ago. He is where the money is at. And it isn;t much the risk IMO. It's the money plain and simple. If there was a lot of money in a Cotto fight. He would have made it happen. True boxing fans didn't want to see a Dela Hoya 2. But that was a for sure box office smash, so that is where he went. I still think Mayweather would beat Cotto. And I think he would do it easily. And I have my cash on Margarito.

People don't take retirement seriously anymore. Look at Jay Z, Michael Jordan, even Rocky.
They always want more money and/or fame.
The "comeback" card is already played out too much these days.

Cotto breaks down and wears down his oppenents through out the fight with all the body shots he throws and all the power behind them. He will take a shot or two but , if i remember hes only been knocked down once(it was early in the fight) and he came back to knock out that oppenent later in the fight(10rd i think ![[Confused]](confused.gif) ) BUt yeah you guys are right if Cotto's promoters brought the $ to Mayweather he'd have no choice. I always thought Cotto's promoters could be doing much better for Cotto but i guess its because he doesnt speak english much...
But i just dont think mayweather could handle the beating cotto would put on him over 12 rds. Dont get me wrong mayweather is good but i think he is better in his own mind than he actually is. Maybe i just dont like his attitude.

I think it is more you not liking his attitude. Mayweather is as skilled a boxer as there is. Ricky Hatton was no pushover. And he made him look average at best. I will say this, it would be a fight I would pay for no doubt. But Cotto would come in a heavy underdog. And I am sure will leave a loser.

Agreed. His attitude makes a person not like him, but we cannot overlook his talent. If he was more humble, we would all be praising how great he is. After he killed Hatton, I gained more respect for Maywether just b/c I liked the fact that he didn't gloat and he went over and shook Hatton's hand.
