SPEEDZONE.....have you ever been there? Its 20X better than Malibu in redwood city. http://speedzone.com/
Drag cars with LS1 motors in it. Drift track. Grand Prix track. Speed Track.
Bar and food inside with video games.
Its in the City of Industry, like 15 min. from West Covina. It gets kinda pricey. Last time i was there I spent $120 on driving alone. Go....you won't regret it

I went to UCLA, so I had a chance to explore LA pretty good.
I would day check out Venice Beach during the day and cruise Sunset Blvd at night.

hahah i wish it was a 1/4 mile. Its basically a funny car on tracks. You control the brakes, gas and a switch on the steering wheel to switch gears. It goes about 70 on the track for about 3-4 seconds. You get 3 runs for $15. Check out the website http://speedzone.com/ I've gone 3 years straight after finding out about it.

This vid was taken last year. Only vid I got before the camera died. But its of the drag cars.

I would hit up speedzone at night. The weather will be much more bearable to drive the cars. I drove the cars at midday one year and it sucks. Be sure to bring some sunglasses, because the grand prix track requires glasses or they will require you to wear their goofy looking goggles. [ July 09, 2008, 12:42 AM: Message edited by: 03gtPONY ]

Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica and Venice have the more popular beaches but are packed and kind of dirty. Hunnington Beach is my favorite but is more towards Orange County. Also Hermosa, redondo, Manhattan Beach are nice as well and closer to LA area. My area has nice beaches too [ July 09, 2008, 02:57 PM: Message edited by: SEMPERFI510 ]

yeah speed zone is hella fun!! we went down there with like 15-20 people when the car club went down to so cal for Knotts. Everyone had a blast! way way better than malibu grand Prix (the same company owns malibu and speed zone, so why does malibu suck compared to speed zone? )
