yeah u could do that if u dont mind a blemish on your credit report. they dont pay their mortgate which then results in bad credit so the same can be said about the renter.

Plug the address into the appropriate county assessors webpage and get the parcel number.

Then go to county recorders webpage and do a land search, then advanced search. Enter the parcel number there and you will find any supporting documents.

good luck

Put in your zipcode and you can look at preforclosures and the default amounts as well as foreclosures. You can't check a specific address but you can look through it.

Bad thing is. Regardless of what the owner is doing with the cash you still have to pay your rent. My friend just got taken to the wash on a similar situation.

Yea...just do your part the right way. Who cares if he's paying his mortgage. But for SURE find out if the house is being forclosed on cause you'll need to find new housing FAST! [patriot]

If you dont want to pay rent, try to find something that is wrong with the house for him to fix, and then withhold rent based on the amount of damages you percieve. What happenes when you dont pay rent, he would have recourse by filing an unlawful detainer. This action does cost money for the foreclosee, so if he's really broke then he wont be able to do it. If he is then you could potentially screw yourself by having that eviction mark on your rental record. Evictions suck if your trying to rent an apartment or house from a property management. But my buddies been evicted almost everywhere he's lived, and he can still rent from private party landlords. Rental references arent too hard to find if you have any friends to vouch for you. If you PM me an address i can find out if its in foreclosure by checking my title company.

Why not just ask the owner? But I agree with Jdub... you will evicted when the bank decides to sell the house.

I'm in that situation right now, the house I've been renting for almost a year is in foreclosure. He hasn't made a payment since we moved in but were still paying rent, no matter what they are still the owner till the bank finishes the full process and you are stuck paying till then. I did a lot of research on it trying to find a loophole but no matter what the person is doing on their end your still responsible. I have a friend that's been able to run the property and keep me up to date so I should know when he isn't the legal owner anymore then I can tell him to piss off. At that point I'm hoping to get a couple months without rent to build up some extra money.

i think if your even woundering about this question you need to start looking for a new place to live, since once the home is foreclosed I don't know how long you have before the bank kicks you out?

People have been doing this alot lately. They cant make the payments so they rent it out keep the rent money you pay and continue not paying theyre mortgage, then next thing you know you have to get out ASAP.And your lucky if they give you enough time to even get your stuff out.Its a scam of sorts.
