I got home yesterday. 16 hours a day for 14 days on the fireline. I went to two fires the Ranch fire near Magic Mountain and the Slide fire in Big Bear area. Heres some pictures i took.
We had two injuries on the Slide Fire. My friend/coworker had 2 boulders smash his leg into a downed tree on one of the cliff sides we were working and farther down the cliff a firefighter from an engine on our strike team fell down a 150 slide/drop off. Both are ok.
These pictures are only of maybe 1% of the fire since we stayed on our own division for each. I am only posting a small amount of the pictures i took.
The Ranch Fire
This is one of many sik ass houses we saved from the fire. It has another 3 car garage connected on the other side of the house.

The Slide Fire
This fire we didn't see much fire activity, we just mopped up the smokes with the backup of the helocopters.
Can you see our fire engines in the picture below?

I am into photography and this pic right here is beautiful yet ominous at the same time. Do you have a hi-res original to this one? With your permission I would like to use it as part of a calendar.

this is actually the bad version, i took two and i like the other one because theres not much of a mess infront of me with the fire engine backing up and the other fire engine coming towards me as much. Everything is there they are just in different positions that i like better.
I will send you the original, i am going to enter it in a contest in a few minutes.

I was down in So. Cal visiting my cousin when all those fires broke out. It was crazy, going out to my car and it was covered in ash. Also, it's weird when you go outside at noon, look to the sky and it looks like sunset. Glad you're safe. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

Dana sik pics. the pic ur gonna send in for contest u should take down to STAPLES an make a copy of it in 11x14 for only like 2.99 good quality too. My mom did some b4 an came out nice . so blow it up an put in ur room or garage for urself.

Yeah those fires were scary, I was at my brothers house when a fire broke out across the 15 fwy. We looked out and saw a bunch of smoke, the fire looked like it was just down the hill. Fortunately it was contained quickly.

I've been thinking of making some of my pictures into hardcopies and framing them. Right now i am thinking about making the crew video though. I hope its easy to make a video with pictures. I will play with it tonight.

farmers is doing an appreciation day on the 10th for firefighters but i believe only down south i am trying to get my district to do something up here I know a lot of sac fire fighters were down tehre helping and i feel need to be appreciated as well...any ideas what would be good or they might enjoy???

thats what i was thinkin but my boss is stupid and thinks they dont need peopel cooking for them bc they do themselves ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif) i just thought it would be something nice to do ne ways you should help me do something ive been wanting to for awhile and my friends mom passed away we talked about doing somethign for the firefighters who helped her they also gave my friend and her sister some nice gifts and stuff so we thought it would be nice to return the gift to them for being so kind
