Got some money together and want to get a new motor built. I have $2500 to spend, maybe a little more. I want something streetable, around maybe 350/400 hp. Trying to stick to no power adders/nitrous and it will be daily driven. Is this shortblock/longblock possible with this price at a machin shop or should i go with mail order. i live in sj
thnx

For a new motor you will have to dig a little deeper ,$2500 is not much to work with. I would think that a new N/A 350+hp motor would set you back a minimum of $6,000 to $7,000 .

If that is all You have to work with then I would pick up a used 5.0 engine and try to find a set of aluminum head's and an intake for cheap. You going carbed of injected?
