Still needs a final sanding and polish but I'm going to let it cure for a while first. Total cost was $100 for paint, and $50 for supplies. I rolled on this paint job so there was no overspray, very little mess, low hassle, and not so much invested that I'm worried about driving it.

I painted my car with a high density foam roller and, rolled it on! Just like painting a house.
I used single stage polyurethane marine paint, which was $38 a quart and I used 3 quarts. Just pour it in the pan and roll it on.
There is a technique to doing this, to reduce orangepeel and cut down on sanding time. I got the idea from this monster thread: http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2655425&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1
If you're bored at work go check it out. It's a fun and educational thread.
PS - I'm not going to paint anybody else's car but give it a try yourself, it's a great way to spend a weekend. The hard part is all in the prep anyway. [ April 09, 2007, 01:39 PM: Message edited by: BCINGUU ]

It was a fun and interesting experiment. Theoretically, how you get the paint deployed to the surface is less important than the prep and finish work. In practice I found that this method gives more orange peel than you get with sprayed application, but that gets smoothed out in the finish and it would probably be smoother if I had more experience and practice. The nice thing is, it was easy and cheap so I didn't have to worry about how it came out.
Definitely not as nice as a professional sprayed paint job but it is road worthy and attention getting, and I have a cool story to tell.

I am going to try this myself on my beater car.
I can bet that your whole body aches from all of the sanding/polishing.
Other than that. Excellent find and your car looks great!
