I'm planning on retrofitting either a TSX or S2K projector into either a 1pc headlight housing or the cobra housing on a 94 mustang. Anyone know where I can get it done around the bay area?

My 98 Integra is already a projector halogen light...I wonder if just installing an HID kit would be fine and not scatter light all over the place blinding the shit outta oncoming cars.

You can buy a bulb + ballast kit that will fit off ebay for around $140-ish

I saw that thread and I think it was for a fox body and it turned out real nice.

It will scatter, glare, and won't put down the light that you want. Also everyone is going to be pissed that you are bliding them.

But our stock housings are made for halogens and not hids. It will just be a nuisance to everyone on the road. I saw a good picture on hidplanet of kits vs oem and the difference is night and day. I want to do it right the first time and not have to worry about it. Plus having that cutoff that projects miles ahead of you with the right color and flicker really makes the car look that much better.

I have been researching for the past 3 weeks and I'll try to share some info the best I can.
An hid setup should include bulb either a d2s (projector bulb) or a d2r (reflector bulb) ballast/ignitor harness reflector housing or projector
I actually looked into the stagmods kit but it has its problems like every other kit. First off the regular kits does not include a projector or hid reflector (housing) which is extremely important. Because of this, you will have lots of glare and won't have the distance of a projector. What we could do is make a shield to minimize the glare but it won't have the flicker, color, and the brightness on the road as an oem retrofit setup.
They also offer the whole kit including the projector housing. But the problem is that the housing is made for a halogen bulb. HIDS work different than halogens so its apples and oranges. Hids will only only work properly with a projector or an hid reflector with the corresponding bulb. We this kit we will still glare, no distinct cutoff, little to no depth and would not emit as much light as an oem setup. At 500 dollars for the kit with housing, one could retrofit an oem setup that would really perform 2x as better.
Kits are not recommended. Retrofits are pricey but you have pay to play. The general consensus discourages kits as we would discourage 20+ inch rims on a fox body or sn95. Some do it but it definetly has its major drawbacks.
