Always liked fire arms, my pop owns many. Some how id never been hunting or to a Range in my life and finally went with a friend today... Gotta say i had alot of fun and im lookin forward to shooting again.
Went to Target Masters in Milpitas and started out just learning with a 9mm Springfield XD-9 Tactical. Was fairly easy to work with.
unloaded about 100 rounds, all with similar grouping, from 20ft to ~40feet (40 i spread out a little, as any newb would). Anyone else go shooting there? ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

Out here in Redneck area you can shoot in your backyard or down where everyone wheels or you can go to near Beale AF Base and go to an outdoor shooting range and set up your hunting rifle or whatever.
Iwould like to get an M16 or an M4, they sell them at Pawn shops next to my brothers base in North Carolina.

Springfields are excellent weapons. I would recommend Glock as well if you liked the XD series. They are very similar in many ways. I would highly recommend trying a Sig Sauer, Kimber, Para-Ordanance, Wilson Combat or Heckler & Koch as well. In the end most people use money as an excuse as to why they chose a lesser expensive firearm for personal defense. The bottom line is, what is your life and the life of your loved ones worth to you?
Just remember....anything outside of 21 feet or 7 yards is considering a homicide and not self defense in most cases. Most DA's will charge you with homicide if you were to shoot a suspect outside of 21 feet.
