Today I took a ride in a friend of a friends supra. Its a 96 silver 6 speed. The thing was basically stock. I think he had exhaust, down pipe, boost controller and other small stuff. He said it dynod 430 rwhp. When he got on it, that thing felt like it was on ice. It was so smooth I didnt think we were moving. I wonder how a supra vs mustang feels at acceleration. I know mustangs probably have more torque.

ummmmmmm NOOOOOOOO! There are no 6 speed supras in 96. Infact there are only auto TT surpas in 96 there are no manual transmission in the turbo models for that year. Furthermore, they did not make silver tt supras in 96.

His mods classify the car as bpu and 430hp is reasonable for those mods. Supras are very smooth and much smoother than mustangs. But they don't have any torque. BTW, bpu supras feel slow!

Mustangs feel like raw power.. they tend to be loud once modified and you feel like you are really going super fast when you aren't. (i mean 13s isn't really fast-with little mods of course)
Ofcourse some years can be decieving.

For example. the cobra i have now.. feels slow.. so slow.. i mean.. it doestn't really pull hard.. everytime i finsih the 1/4 mile i can bet money that it was a 15 sec run, but the time slip says it was in the 13.20s with just a drop in filter and k&N, Whereas.. my 95 gt felt like a crazy mofo and probably went 15s..
my 03 cobra felt slow too.. and went low 12s.

Fox bodies tend to feel really fast because of the torque.. not necessarily becuae they are.

"your cobra"? which cobra are you talking about the 03.. heck no.. the 03 was close to 500rwtq.
the 96.. then yes i know it did.. numbers wise.

I dynoed the fox and dynoed the 96 cobra. the fox has much higher numbers.

My point is acceleration can be very deceiving. it depends on the cars and whatnot.

Yes I'm sure. Its any year 94-98 except for 96. They also didn't make silver supras in 93. The supras in 94, 95 and 97 were Alpine Silver and 98 was Quick Silver. If its completely stock meaning stock drivetrain and color then its probably a 94, 95 or a 97. And if I had to take a guess I'd say 94 as my 1st guess and 95 as my 2nd guess. Its highly unlikely to be a 97 or 98.
