Hello I wanted to say what’s up to my fellow old school CA fords people, as well as the new. Well a lot of you new faces might not know me cause with my new job I have taken a brake from the Ford community (sorry Matt for not helping with the CA fords car show last year). I work at a company called Automotive R&D for the most part we work on Japanese cars. We are also an importer for a lot of high end parts and wheels from Japan but are extending our horizons to go back to my roots of muscle cars.
We have a Nissan 240sx full race drift car. About 6 months ago it was about 90% complete. Power plant, we were running the stock KA24 4 cylinder with a custom turbo set up and running an AEM engine management system. But during the testing phase the motor was giving me issues, the engine management and the wide band sensors were not cooperating with me. With that combined to my drivers heavy right foot I was worried about the motor not being reliable and for all the money we put into it I was not going to be a cost effective power plant.
So I opted to go for a power plant I was more familiar with and something that was a lot cheaper, more reliable and easier to modify and tune (not to mention more torque). I would like to show off our 240sx/5.0L drift car. Here are a couple of pics:
We just did our first practice day at Altamont race way this past Friday and I would like to report that all though I do have some further tweaks to do the car runs great and even with the stock power plant is more that sufficient to spin the tires in any gear.
I would like to take this time to thank the people that have helped me to make this project happen Mike T (66 InjectedCobra). Mike was THE MAN for getting me both the mock up motor as well as the FULL conversion, motor from intake to pan and every sensor and wire and bracket that you can think of. Mike T has to be the best used parts person on this board. I would also like to thank Mike Dennis (even though he does not post on this forum).
Once I have all the kinks worked out on the car I would love to show it off to you guys. BTW Mike I need one more early model front sump pan and pick up I want to make a second version of the oil pan, and Apex Motorsports if your reading this I would like to talk to you guys about some “tuning” opportunities .

- 87GeeTee: For wheels we are supporting our new product line we are sole distributor for AME wheels. There sweet pretty sweet 2-pc wheels strong and light.
Thanks guys for all the positive feed back. I will keep you all up to date as the project rolls along.

awesome project 240..I'm sure the 5.0 gives u enough torque to break the tires loose quicker than the ka turbo lag..but yea its a cool unique swap, better than seeing sr20 swaps over and over again....
