OK, i remember I had a disscusion with someone, at some point of my life. They told me that a 351 C/W was the smallest of FORDS' BIG BLOCKS- and my side of the argument was that a 351 block was probably the biggest of the SMALL BLOCKS Ford has to offer. Who is with me, I'm pretty damn sure that a 351 is a SMALL BLOCK, any input from the engine GURU'S would greatlly help.
I just remembered as I was reading recent post. [Whoo Whooooo!]

351= SMALL BLOCK

If i remember correctly it has something to do with the head size, number of bolts, dry intake, and different dimensions all around that make the cleveland a big block (staight shitin' on fools)

Yes sir- If I would ever run a 351, it would of definatelly have to be a WINDSOR. More parts and a lot more potential. Just because the whole array of parts that you can buy off-shelf and just bolt on with no mods. Trust me this is less of a hassle when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, building time. [patriot]

it fits nicwer and everything and they jus finally came out with aluminum heads for the cleavland but shit i have seen numerious articles with almost i dentical builds and the windsor loses jus barely but that motor was also 2500 cheaper to build and it fit nice in the car and was easier to work on! and for the extra 2500 bucks i can make up for the loss of power! [Wink] a big [Whoo Whooooo!] for the windsor!

I love wikipedia, I hate people on certain forums.
Can't go back and erase everything I knew before wikipedia, but I can edit. Thanks.

And fuck this broken search feature, I'm trying to make a point here.

well actualy the 351 windsor is a small block. Ford gave no offical definiton for the 351C that is why there is always a argument I have heard it called both big and small and have even heard it called a Mid(not to be confused with the 351 M) block.

Both the 351W and 351C have a small block bellhousing bolt pattern. Both are considered small blocks. "Mid" refers to the 351/400M (Midland engine plant) series engine. It uses the 429/460 bellhousing bolt pattern, which makes people say that it is a "big block".
