I'm getting ready to vacate my apartment and I need to figure out a solution to a small dent in the hardwood. So far I have the following ideas:

-Wood Filler/Puddy
-Old trick using iron stream/wet towel to expand wood
-Lacquer Stick

Any recommendations? thanks!

I work in the industry and have for years, with that said putty/wood filler could work until someone steps on it, but then again you just need to make it look fine till you're out. I would say no to the iron and wet towel trick because theres a chance you ruin it more... stain wise or construction wise. I dont see how a lacquer stick would work so I would say your best bet is the putty. Best of luck

Google Kevin's Flooring Company in Sacramento. He also does work in the bay as well.

I had Comcast drilled thru my hardwood floors and several contractors refused the job as I was picky about the repair.

Kevin had great reviews. He did an awesome job repairing and blending in the new boards.

Thanks for the advice! In regard to the lacquer stick, someone suggested melting it with a hot knife and filling in the dent, apparently it's more durable than puddy.

I'll take a look into that company, but I'm over on the peninsula.

Just letting you know landlords are complete dicks. dont bother with it i guarentee even if you leave the place in better condition than it was when you initially moved in they would still keep some of your deposit for rediculous reasons. dont waste your time, time is money
