I recently bought a 03 gt head unit for my 01 bullitt because I wanted to go for a stock look and so my system can sound clean. I had an after head unit but it only played through the tweeters. After installing the oem headunit I was loving the sound but what I would notice as I was driving was the sound would cut out for about a second on the speakers but never tweeters. Then after going to store and as I was leaving I noticed no sound was coming from speakers. Only tweeters. Ive disconnected the stereo, checked fuses and wires but i cant seem to find what the hell happened. Any ideas of what it could be?

First, post in Tech section.

Second, check all three amps. One is located behind your head unit the others in the rear deck.

You said you previously had an aftermarket headunit...check to see whoever installed it did not do a hack job on the stock wiring harnesses to the factory Mach 460 amps. It sounds like the factory amps were bypassed when you had the aftermarket head unit.

An aftermarket head unit will still play properly thru all speakers using Mach sound system with the correct adapter installed. Sounds likes yours was not if just the tweeters were playing.
