Thinking about after I get my car through its next stage of aesthetics trying to get some good rolling shots..should I just ask a buddy to take them, or are they truly an art and I should talk to people that know what they're doing?

In my opinion, "good" rolling shots require the use of a DSLR and a good lens. I've seen a bunch of camera phone rolling shots that are "rolling shots" but definitely not on par with quality examples.

I've got a photographer I can refer you to. He is out of the Vallejo area but he does travel if need be. Let me post some examples once I get to a computer....

There was a guy with a dslr taking pics on the freeway on the 2013 knotts cruise. He was dam near out the windowlol. Wonder if he's a member cuz I'd love some rolling shots.
