Topic: check engine light

My car keeps popping the check engine light for p0455, large leak, i cant figure out why, its a 1998 mustang gt, ive already replaced the gas cap and a few hoses, any suggestions?? Any help is appreciated

Large evap leak.. take it to a smog and repair shop. Have them perform a smoke test. Actual smoke will detect the leak. Sometimes that's the only way you can find the leak. Also, Posting this in tech talk section will be more helpful. [ 2013-05-30, 11:43 AM: Message edited by: stangfanatic87 ]

If thats the case then that would stand true for 99-04 as well considering they are pretty much the same except heads and manifold

Have you tried spraying brake clean around hoses and gaskets?

p0455 is an evap code it has nothing to do with vacuum leak unless a hose is cracked on evap line to the intake but then you would get the code p0174/p0171

Yeah my bad, I must have been distracted while reading. There's no way to tell without smoke testing. Do sn95 cars run a diag pump? I see these fail frequently where I work and flag a false leak, also a common one is fuel pump hat o rings, but like I said no way to tell without a smoke test.
