I have a couple of questions. How will my insurance company determine how much my car is worth? Should I try to frind the receipts for my engine rebuild, oil changes,brakes and rotors. They also said that they will be taking out $500 from my total pay out because of my dedectable is that true if im not getting my car repaired.

Yes, they will take out your deductable from your payout. When my wife's car was rearend'd they paid out 2000 to fix but deducted her 500 deductable from the check.

might end up being a civil matter if insurance doesnt pay up (which i doubt they will) but you never know

My car was parked on the street a car hit it,now its totaled sucks for me. The officer said that the vehicle that hit my car was stolen. That makes me believe that my insurance will have to take care of it.

You can buy it back from the insurance and then part it to help make up for your loss.

i dont think there is anything left to sell off of it besided the hood,fenders and trunk. The motor and transmission wont make me much $$

the insurance company will only give you bluebook for the car, all you can do is fight for high bluebook w/ proof of low milage or being exceptionally clean ect..., and they will still take out whatever your deductible is

and they will not pay you any more for all the maintenance or upgrades done to it, unless you are paying for the extra coverage, but it will help you to try and get higher bluebook

when my S80 volvo was totaled the ins companay did a survey on what the same cars were selling for in my area and paid me that and sold me the car for 500 bucks

Unfortunately I just dealt with all this with my Cobra, they will only do upgrades etc if you have that in your policy, also the deductible should be paid back to you if they find the driver of the hit and run vehicle and it it is determined they were uninsured motorist. Wish you the best man all this is a pin in the ass.
