Whats the difference between leaving your car 4lug or doing 5lug conversion? Just that you have more wheel options? Or?

having 5 points of contact is better than 4. Also waaaaaaay more wheel options and also the brake systems for 5 lug cars are much more efficient than the stock foxbody bullshit.

as far as brakes are concerned on a 4 lug, you can always upgrade to bigger brakes and stay 4 lug, cant you? or do you mean that stock 5 lug brakes are bigger than stock 4 lug?

Better Math: 1 additional lug nut = 25% increase in wheel clamping force.
Probably doesn't make a difference with skinny tires that are hard as a rock. With wider & stickier tires that additional clamping force helps keep the wheel on the car.

4 lug is fine as long as the studs are thick enough, I went 9s with 4 lug 1/2" studs, my buddy goes 8s with 4 lug and 5/8" studs and I am planning on upgrading to 5/8" studs and stay 4 lug. 5 lug just gives you more wheel option and you don't have to upgrade to 5/8" studs, if you plan on going quicker than 8s.
