Your best bet would be through a credit union

You can do this^ but to borrow they will want a 10-20% deposit of the amount that you want to borrow. And you will also need good credit and proof of income. [ October 19, 2012, 08:32 PM: Message edited by: Nifty50 ]

I got a loan from my CU for a truck I bought private party. I do think that there's a certain amount of years old the vehicle can be tho? My credit is good and I didn't put anything down. It might be possible but most likely have a pretty high interest rate. Either way GL

I think most credit unions don't give used auto loans for anything older than 2001. Check Travis cu they are good and yes typically you need ten percent they fund the other 90%

Credit Union is the way to go. Just get a personal loan, unless the vehicle meets their auto loan standards.

This. When I was dirt poor, I had to get an unsecured personal loan at like 18% to buy a car. It sucks, but it's better than getting uppercut on the bus.

The credit union through my job offers car auto loans for employees with no cash down up to a certain amount and about 8% interest :-) [ October 21, 2012, 11:42 AM: Message edited by: SydewayzStan ]
