Which drag radial should I go with? I'm looking at the 275s or 295s. Car will be mostly driven on the street but sometimes see the track, hardly though. Car will be making like 397.5rwhp I want something that hooks. [ August 03, 2012, 12:59 AM: Message edited by: Smoked50 ]

If you going to drive it on the streets a lot I would recommend Nittos NT-05r they hook pretty good and last a lot longer than both MT and Hoosier. MT would be better than Hoosier cause they will last longer for street use. Never use Hoosier but heard they hook better than MT but the streets will eat them up quick

They both are good herd hooser hook better but i dont think nittos would hook for shit on a real built car. But my boy has nittos on his 94 cobra they hook nice for stock with 410's and exhaust.

Do the Hoosiers last a good amount of time? I read the Hoosier have 10" tread vs MT that has 9.5" tread.
I'm trying to stay away from Nitto, I've heard good things about MT and Hoosier so I'm having a hard time deciding between those two.

The Hoosier will not last at all on the street. Get the MT. I personally would get the Hoosier and if I needed to drive on the street I'd have another set of rims with some Nitto's. But if you are going to drive the car very little just put the MT on there and try and get 5-8k out of them.

have had both and they both seem to not last very long....
and the hoosiers are 10"...really at this point it's preference..I like the looks of the hoosiers and so far they have hooked very very well...but a you know i don't drive that much either..

I would use the MT drag radial that are meant for the street, the Hoosier aren't made to be used on the street but they hook very well, but Mickey Thompson just came out with a new drag radial but its not meant for the street, jph331 just got some and he should be running very low 8s with them

Just buy some steel wheels and mount your drag tires on them. You can buy rims for dirt cheap & you will get maximum use out of them. Unless your making serious HP and drive like a mad man on the street I'd just keep some regular all weather tires on it.
