Pendelton is in the East part of Oregon. The annual rainfall averages there are similar to that of Northern California. Pretty dry there compared to Southern or Central Oregon.
As a comparison Eugene Oregon gets between 47"-50" of rain a year, where as Pendelton Oregon gets approx 10"-15" of rain a year. Most people think just because it's Oregon it always rains. Most of eastern Oregon is a desert.
I was just in the Pedelton area last week, and there were goddman tumbleweeds rolling down the HWY.LOL
It is slow there, not a whole lot going on, but it's close enough to Portland if you want to have a San Francisco'esqe experience.

Lived in Eugene past couple years, most beautiful place I've ever been
Pendleton's real far away, East up by the WA border, not too good from what I hear

Pendleton doesn't get much rain, anything east of the cascades stays pretty dry out there past the willamette valley

I can' t wait to move back to Oregon. Too many reasons to count. Lack of smog in many areas is just one of them.
